First chartered in February 5, 1934, Local 451 encompasses 3 counties throughout the state of Delaware – New Castle, Kent, and Sussex, 2 counties in Pennsylvania (see description) – part of Delaware and Chester County, and 1 county in Maryland (see description) – Cecil County. Please Note: Local #451 does not encompass some parts in Delaware and Chester County, Pennsylvania. For more detailed information, please see the map.
We are more than 200-members strong who are well-trained and ready to work with and for our signatory contractors.

We are a Local Union chapter of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers.

You’ll find our work at the heart of a building’s structure. Our members erect the structural framework of buildings and also reinforce its foundation. We also are essential in a variety of projects in both the  commercial and industrial projects such as erection of bridges, power plants, steel mills, oil refineries and blast furnaces.

Our skill set includes structural steel erection, certified welders, installing and tying of reinforcing steel, rigging and machinery moving, precast erection, curtain wall and window wall Installation, installation of stairs and handrail systems, miscellaneous and ornamental ironwork, architectural metal wall and roofing systems, and various fence systems all of which are taught by certified instructors in our training facility.
